		<description>Yes, strategy formulation is the function of the corporate board and top management. But then it follows with structure and other type of executions. Good strategy will fail when it is poorly executed. Poor strategy may success if the execution process consists of the capability of the organization to adapt itself with the changes including a timely response to a poor strategy.  From that point of view, it is sound to view strategy as part of the operational risk both its hardside (people, system, etc) and softside (culture, values, integrity) aspects. All these aspects can tell us clearly whether a strategy will succeed or fail either on the formulation or execution level.</description>

		<description>Thanks for a clarifying post. I think you hit the nail on the head when you pointed out the difference between managing strategic risk and managing risks strategically. I haven&#039;t thought of strategic (and operational) risks in this way...so thanks for that. And you&#039;ve given me a couple of references I will spend the Christmas holidays on reading.</description>
